A Cook/Chief Cook on Sørlandet is ultimately responsible for specific responsibilities and duties linked to the
Galley Department on Sørlandet. It is expected that the Cook/Chief Cook supports the Captain by actively taking
part in the Foundation's objectives, policies and core values.
In addition the formal Administration as defined for Cooks on Sørlandet, the Foundation emphasizes the
following personal characteristics and additional competencies:
A Cook/Chief Cook on Sørlandet must have hold a position for at least 6 months in a leading role and ideally be
able to proof following responsibilities and competencies:
> Menu Planning with focus on healthy and varied diet - adopted to an international palate.
> Budget and profit responsibility for accounts related to the Galley Department.
> International purchase planning and implementation.
> Experience of Budget and Cost responsibility.
> Prepare tasty and appealing meals.
> Knowledge about food allergies and special dietary needs.
Responsibility for setting and implementing industry standards for storage, meal preparation, meal
handling and general hygiene standards.
> Being inclusive and empathetic is a key value for the Foundation leadership style.
> Emphasize on open and clear Communications with colleagues and customers.
> High focus on success factors linked to the Foundation’s distinctive business model as a Training/
School Ship and as an Ambassador on behalf of our home city, region and Country.
> Fluency in English. Location: Worldwide
