Job Overview: A leading Information Management Service Company is seeking a Senior Application Support Specialist to manage geoscience support activities on behalf of a major oil operator. Working closely with the oil company\‘s geoscience community these activities may relate to geoscience software installation, licences configuration, application workflow support and data management support. These services will be delivered primarily from the Company\‘s headquarters in Surrey but you will have the option to work at the client site in Central London, Germany and/or Norway as required. Applicants are invited with good general knowledge of exploration and production software used in the oil and gas industry with particular interest in candidates with Petrel, Techlog, Landmark\‘s Engineering Data Model, Kingdom and/or Eclipse experience.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Team Lead, you will undertake the following tasks:

Become competent in the Company\‘s workflows, practices and quality assurance policies etc.
Establish relationships of trust with the oil operator\‘s geoscience community. Understand their workflow, challenges, constraints and priorities.
Have regular meetings with your contacts keeping them abreast of progress/status of requested tasks. Meetings will take place predominately by phone but site meetings may be required.
Deliver the managed services in a professional and timely manner. Services will vary dependent on the oil operators requirements and may include: Installation of Windows based applications such as Petrel, Kingdom and Techlog; Installation of Linux based applications such as Eclipse; Licence configuration of aforementioned applications; Applications Workflow support to the client remote as well as onsite; Data loading, unloading and QA/QC support on mentioned applications.
Deliver the managed services in a professional and timely manner. Ensure that all services are responded to within the agreed service level and a high level of satisfaction is maintained.
This role offers great variety of tasks and scope to develop your technical application and system environment skills. Ideal for a candidate who can work in a team and independently, and who has experience in using or supporting geoscience applications. Preferences: The successful candidate will have:

A degree in geology or related earth sciences essential.
Minimum of 4 years industry oil and gas experience essential.
Experience in supporting geoscience applications essential. Preferably in Petrel, Techlog, EDM, Kingdom and/or Eclipse.
Thorough understanding of Geoscience data types essential.
Understanding and knowledge of geotechnical data standards and dataflows essential.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
A good understanding of Geoscience data types essential.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (both written and oral) with the ability to listen accurately and articulate clearly to convey effective and accurate support to the Client – essential.
Strong desire to advance your technical knowledge of leading edge products.
Confident and self-reliant – the ability to resolve technical queries effectively.
Efficient time management, highly organised with excellent co ordination skills essential
Self-motivated, able to act independently with minimum supervision while remaining a strong team player.
Adaptable and enthusiastic, and highly flexible.
The ability to take ownership of activities and the tenacity to ensure successful completion.
Enthusiasm, drive and ambition to succeed.
Willingness and ability to travel
Package: A Base Salary of £50 – 60K (GBP) on offer depending on skills and experience plus a performance and company based bonus plus 25 days holiday and a flexible benefits package
