Job Overview: A leading global oil services Company, offering a broad range of services such as seismic data acquisition, processing, reservoir analysis/interpretation and multi-client library datasets, seeks a Geophysical Processing/Operations Project Manager for their 2D Multi-Client Group to manage 2D processing projects and to help manage acquisition surveys. Applicants are invited with strong background in geophysical processing in marine 2D time and/or depth processing. Some experience of marine survey operations/planning highly advantageous. This is an ideal role for someone with a good background in marine processing and ambitious with a desire to take on project management responsibilities. The Company provides an extensive range of seismic services and products for the petroleum industry including data acquisition, processing, reservoir analysis and interpretation. The company also possesses one of the most extensive multi-client data libraries in the world.

The 2D Multi-Client Group focuses on frontier exploration identifying hot spots for further investigation. They predominately cover Europe, Africa and the Middle East but there is potential for global surveys. There is great career potential as this group and Company is rapidly expanding and there is immense opportunity to develop your technical and managerial skills.

Working long-side the Global Multi-client 2D Manager, your primary responsibility will be to manage 2D processing projects. In addition, you will assist in with survey operations. With a strong geophysical background, you will strive to improve the range and quality of 2D multi-client products as well as piloting new initiatives and technologies for Global application. For the right candidate there is also the possibility in becoming more involved in survey project development aspects.

This role offers immense opportunities to broaden your geophysical knowledge across all aspects of marine exploration and your management expertise working on a range of 2D multi-client processing and survey projects.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the VP Geophysical Projects (Europe), you will be responsible for:

Become competent in the technologies, workflows and practices of the geophysical operations of the Company.
Manage the day-to-day activities of MultiClient 2D processing projects – this includes standard processing and depth imaging.
Build strong relationships with your end clients – promote the technical competencies of your team and 2D processing workflows and techniques.
Liaise with clients to identify and understand their technical requirements, constraints, and deliverables regarding 2D processing projects.
Scope processing projects, ensuring that resources are identified, available and tasked appropriately.
Manage all aspects of delivering processing projects to clients, ensuring that a high level of customer satisfaction is achieved.
Provide technical advice, mentoring and guidance to your team and other regions if required.
Assist in managing MC2D acquisition projects – from license permitting, planning, acquisition, through processing, QC and delivery.
Support activities of Global MC2D Manager at project level.
Investigate and resolve 2D acquisition or processing issues, which could improve operational efficiency or data quality.
Audit internal or external processing resources being considered as dedicated 2D processing facilities or suitability for outsourcing.
Supervise outsourced processing.
Work on extending applications for Gravity and Magnetics data including for project design.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have:

Minimally educated to degree level in Earth Science or related subjects, Physics, Maths. Geophysics highly preferred MSc or PhD advantageous.
Minimum of 10 years’ oil and gas industry work experience essential.
Proven marine hands-on geophysical processing and QC experience essential. A good understanding of 2D processing essential.
Marine depth imaging processing highly advantageous.
A good understand of how seismic is acquired essential.
Proven work experience in the multiclient business highly advantageous.
Experience in mentoring, supervising or managing a team highly advantageous.
Team player with persuasive/assertive personality that can provide sound project management, leadership and direction.
Good project management skills – the ability to prioritize competing demands, focus, and make decisions.
Strong service focus – ability to manage projects in a timely and professional manner achieving a high level of customer satisfaction.
Good client communication skills – the ability to listen and articulate technical findings and project workflows and status.
Attention to detail and processes with the ability to work under strict deadlines.
